Jared Gold Caspian Holiday 2007
The fiercest girls in the country stormed the city and stomped their heels down an exhausting 110 foot runway. “Caspian” Jared Gold's Holiday 2007
As Belle Epoque transitioned to Art Deco, the change worked its way around the world, as there were cloistered pockets of the movements stranded in far reaching countries. Caspian’s aesthetic codex is imagery gleaned during this period in Nordic countries: Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and Finland. King Christian the IV of Denmark built a fabulous palace in blood red, sterling silver, pewter crowned with the mottled bone of norwhale horns. The frigid color way and opulence is the first inspiration in collection. This group will also be filled with incredibly experimental silhouettes, with concepts gleaned from Deco period clothing and designers such as Paul Poiret, Jeanne Lanvin, and Claire McCardell. Dropped waists, geometric mandalas, and added cultural influences of Nordic country’s traditional wear: fur, crewel embroidery and metallics. Large electrifying prints of geometric abstraction meshed with regional folk arts are the opening dialogue of the textiles. The custom fabrics are heavily inspired by Arts-and Crafts movement designers MacIntyre and Phillip Morris. Enjoy the darkness of Capsian’s hard frost.

Kelmscott Pressed pants! (William/LOL, I make the same typo when referring to him and the rest of the Pre-Raphaelites.) Whistler/Bouche.
You have a unique slant on crossing historical dress and geographical areas. El Greco/Toulouse Lautrec... Moulin Rouge for sure.
Thank you for posting your great work!
I'll check out the other photos for sure!
